...or keep the noise! Whether you want to bring your production to the next level or you need a place to record, produce, mix or master your music, Death Shanty Audio, located in the heart of Hamburg is the right choice for you.
The studio is wired for every aspect of modern music and audio production, from writing & recording to editing & mixing.
Record guitar, bass, vocals, synthesizers, drum machines, etc through an SSL interface. Run multiple instruments at the same time, record them separately or together to capture the sound that is haunting you.
High quality mixing is the key to a professional sounding production. Get your mix to the professional level with room aligned Neumann KH80 DSP monitors powered by a Neumann KH750 Sub and acoustically treated room.
Similar to re-amping a DI signal through an actual guitar or bass amp, DSA offers re-synthing, taking a MIDI signal and running it through a synthesizer. Our collection of analog, digital and modular synthesizers is constantly growing, giving you an endless palette of sounds to choose from.
Having a vast collection of software and hardware synthesizers, drum machines, effects, samplers and euro racks, I can create custom sounds for your production. Whether you need a specific sound for a song, a sound effect for a movie or a sound bed for a podcast, I'd be happy to help you out.
Run your digital audio to tape to add warmth, punch and some analog grit. This can be done for the entire mix, stems or individual tracks. Our tape machine of choice is a refitted 1/4" AKAI GX-221D, using professional RTM LPR 35 tape for crisp analog sound.

DSA doesn't have a live room, so there is no way to record acoustic drums in the studio. But you have access to quite a few virtual drum kits and drum machines. Using a good E-Drum kit, you'll get professional and real sounding drums that still retains the feel and accents of your drumming.
